Isle of Man
At the end of April it was into a block of Y12 Mocks with Maths on Monday, Biology on Wednesday and Physics moved to the Thursday morning so that we could make the ferry.
Initially I hadn’t even planned on doing Isle of Man because of the amount of travel, however an invite to go with Matt Gilmour, had me excited and eager to race there for the first time.
Isle of Man was my first road race off the mainland of the UK, and, after a short prologue, a hilly/rainy stage 2 and a flat circuit into a 13km run into the main climb of the weekend, I walked away with a mixture of results, lots learnt and my first race with a separate hilltop finish on Stage 3.
I really enjoyed the racing there and can’t wait to go back and perform better as a second year.

Cadence
Cadence was nothing to write home about. With a new session tested on the Friday and some horrible legs it was a long day out dropped and with only one other rider to work with, however I still got it done.
National Champs
Another disappointing day out at Nat Champs with a forced DNF.

Reevaluating
After a few disappointing races, it was time to re-evaluate my training and look forward to what’s ahead in the season with my main goals during the summer holidays.
